Riviera project started

This is not Singapore's Marina Bay Sands but Riviera project in Phnom Penh City, Cambodia.The foundation work of The Riviera have started for a month on Diamond island. The project is developed by OCIC and designed by Thailand's architectural firm A7corp. A7corp has a very close relationship with some powerful Cambodian real estate developers. Riviera is the biggest project started so far on diamond island and appears to be the 2nd permanent structure after Elite town which is nearing completion. We do not have information about this project's function but according to its location, design, and renderings, we can assume that The Riviera would be function as retails, hotel, and apartment... We also don't have information about the cost of this project but it must be much less than Marina since the 3 towers supporting the sky garden are shorter and not as complex as Marina Bay Sands.

Koh Rong Project

In the recent years, developments on Cambodia islands has been increasing noticeably. Song Saa island just finished it development and opened its door to the visitors since late December 2012 and Koh Pous is also working on its development plan. How about other islands? In the video below, you will see Koh Rong and its development plan.

Cambodia's conglomerate Royal group has been granted a 99 years lease from the government to develop this island. The company is still seeking investment partner to work on this projects. According to its website, the company plan to make this island to be a luxury and ecologically-friendly resort. The development will include infrastructures like Airport, Marina, Golf course, Eco-transportation, Ferry and Port, Water and Power supply, and warehousing and food distribution services.

Royal Group plans to build a marina which it stated to be one of the region's best

Airport is also in the infrastructure development's list

Koh Rong has a high potential for this kind of development. Recently, The New York Times listed this island as one of The 45 places to go in 2012. We hope that Royal group will find its investment partner and make Koh Rong a paradise soon. Koh Rong Paradise forever!

Diamond Island City Hall

A big construction in front of the Koh pich garden has been seen for months. Everyone is wondering what building it is. The building will be used for wedding ceremony. It is called Diamond Island city hall. The project is a part of Diamond island city. A thai architectural firm, A7corp is responsible for the whole Diamond island projects. According to A7corp website, the city hall has 3 stories and the building area is up to 10,000Sq.m. It has underground parking and it can occupy up to 101 cars.

Koh Song Saa resort

Have you ever heard about Song Saa Island? Song Saa is a Khmer word which means Sweetheart in English. Song Saa Island Resort is located on Koh Oun and Koh Bong – two small adjacent islands in Koh Rong Archipelago. The two small islands are connected by footbridge. These two island were developed by Brocon Co., Ltd, an Australian run property development company to be a luxury private island resort comprising only 27 luxury over-water, jungle and beach villas built with sustainable materials. The resort can be accessed via a 30 minute speedboat ride from Sihanoukville.

Designer Melita Hunter is the creative mind behind the project, responsible for the architecture, master planning, and interior design.The design ensures that the resort blends in with its natural environment, yet offering the amenities and services one would expect from a five-star resort.
