A New Football Course Appeared in Eastern Part of Phnom Penh
A 144m x 108m football course located in Chbar Ampov High School, Mean Chey District, Phnom Penh funded by the Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), in the morning of January 19, 2012 was inaugurated and opened its first match (between Capital Hall officers and Chbar Ampor High School teachers) under presidency of H.E Governor KEP Chuk Tema.
According to the report of Mr. KUOCH Chamreoun, Mean Chey District Chief, starting from 2007 to 2011, the football course was mainly flooded and transferred to be a field for planting corn, tobacco, rice, sugarcane and other crops. However, from early academic year of 2011 – 2012, H.E Governor had decided to establish a new football course as a benefit for young generation to practice their sports. He had continued that Mean Chey District had removed all mud and replaced by sand, soil and laterite, grew green grass and rehabilitated surrounding access roads to become a beautiful and standard course which cost of 104,582 USD funded by BIDV as well as reclaimed land in front of the course of 30,427m3 that cost another 48,856USD which supported by the Capital Hall.
Addressing to the crowds, H.E Governor had conveyed his profound gratitude to the Bank of Investment and Development of Vietnam for providing 500,000USD to help the Capital Hall in development social welfare as well as education in Phnom Penh that could established a building for drug victims in Orkas Khnom (My Chance) Center, a school building at Mittepheap Kindergarten in Mittepheap Commune, 7 Makara District and a football course in Chbar Ampov High School which would become an international standard course. Moreover, H.E Governor had also appreciated to Chbar Ampov High School as well as Mean Chey District for their efforts in establishing new remarkable achievements. Furthermore, H.E Governor had continued that sport is a significant sector in develop human resources especially within youth generation to build up their healthy bodies and spirits and to divert them from other illegal games.
Then, there was a friendship match between Capital Hall officers and teacher of that school. As the results, the Capital Hall officer team won 4 score over the teacher team and H.E Governor had decorated an award of 5 million Riels to the winner and 3 million Riels to the failure. Moreover, H.E Governor also provided 200 USD to each of 4 arbitrators, 200USD to coordinating committee, 20,000 Riels to each of 6 FIFA flag holders, 30,000 Riels to a deaf teacher, 10,000 Riels to each of 46 deaf students, 100 Cambodian Scout Youths and 50 Cambodian Red Cross youths.
